Realizing that a career as a professional tap dancer or a stand up comedian was not in my future, I braved graduation at WWHS and completed business school in Charleston, West Virginia which landed me in the financial services industry for my career choice.

In 1959 I set off to the land of awesome sunsets and ocean breezes a/k/a the “Sunshine State” and never looked back.

Life has been good to me here, I am married now 47 years to a NAVY man (can’t resist a man in uniform) have two daughters, two granddaughters and one grandson. My grandchildren refer to me as “girlfriend” because we (me) do not like the other word that would make me feel “old”.

I lived and worked in Miami until 1992 when I retired as a bank vice president (35 years) and moved – three days after “ANDREW” – to San Antonio, Florida – a small laid back community surrounded by cattle ranches, orange groves, Walt Disney World and Tampa. (Note: this move was due to my husband’s job relocation.)

Retirement became a bore as well as the “culture” shock from the big city to the country life so I started a “fun” job working as a collection manager at the local Credit Union just to keep busy.

I do however; stay involved with volunteer work, I enjoy scuba diving, world travel, line dancing, a trip to Vegas now and then, and of course, my family. We are on the “second” generation at Walt Disney World – my how time flies when you’re having fun!

My children and grandchildren live in Miami which makes me a “commuter girlfriend” visiting them often.

“It’s not the destination but the journey”- I have had a great journey so far and look forward to the rest of my life journey.

PS. I really enjoy “catching up” on the class website.
